Acapulco, Guerrero, February 28.- It was not an easy match for Kristina Mladenovic. Beatriz Haddad Maia demanded the maximum effort, and although they played three sets, at the end Kiki won, 3-6, 6-3 and 7-5 in over two and a half hours match.
Mladenovic will face Lesia Tsurenko in quarterfinals, whom eliminated her in last year’s final. They have faced each other four times, with a favorable balance for Lesia, with 3-1.
Kiki corrected the course and for the second she improved her first service effectiveness, the opposite occurred Haddad Maia, who´s percentage was less effective and gave chances to Mladenovic.
Kiki leveled the match, and they played three sets, but Haddad Maia didn’t give up and kept on fight to win a ticket to the quarterfinals.
Haddad Maia came with determination to face the last games, in which Mladenovic took her best shots to end the match.
Kiki finished with five serves, seven double faults and 56 percent effectiveness with the first service, while Haddad had a direct service, nine double faults and 68 percent effectiveness with the first serve.
