Acapulco, Guerrero, March 2nd .- Kevin Anderson became, for the second time, finalist of Abierto Mexicano Telcel, presented by HSBC, after winning in three 6-3, 4-6 and 6-3 to Jared Donaldson.
Anderson goes for his fifth title of the ATP circuit and second of the year.
Kevin, fifth seed, reached his first final in Acapulco in 2014 and lost it to Grigor Dimitrov. .
Donaldson, 21, stood firm on Pegaso Stadium, but could not find a way to win Anderson´s service. He lost the first service where donaldson achieved 18 direct services, also he made three double faults. His service was consistent, which helped him win the second set, but Anderson kept fighting to get to final, the match lasted 2:21 hours.
For Jared this is the best result so far this year; he will get 180 points for playing the semifinal.
In the initial set, a break in the fourth game was enough for Kevin to take advantage and pocket that sleeve.
The start of the second set was difficult for Donaldson, for almost 10 minutes he had to work to maintain his serve, he made errors that gave Anderson several break opportunities.
In the eighth game Donaldson generated his first break opportunity and did not miss it, to take the score 5-3.  Anderson again gave up his service to match the partials and force a third set, where once again there was only one break.
