Acapulco, Gro.- 26 de febrero.- The former no.1 in the world, Victoria Azarenka, defeated Danielle Collins, second seed of the tournament, in two sets (6-1, 6-2), the match lasted one hour and fourteen minutes.

Vika, currently no. 50 in the WTA ranking, won for second time this season against Collins, who played the final in Australian Open, but lost it to Petra Kvitová.
The players faced each other last year in San Jose, Collins (no. 25 in the WTA ranking) won in that occasion; however, this time Azarenka showed a strong game.

On the Next round, Vika will face Tatjana Maria, for a ticket to the quarterfinals.
Until this match, Azarenka had only won in Saint Petersburg, defeating Margarita Gasparyan.

In other results, Johanna Konta (no. 45 in the world ranking) eliminated Laura Siegemund in two sets (6-3, 6-2), in a match that lasted a little more than one hour.
Konta broke three times her rival’s service and had a first service effectiveness of 82%, the players have face each other before, and this victory ties the record of wins.

Also, Timea Babos won in three sets ( 5-7, 6-4, 6-4) to Dalila Jakupović in a two hours and a half match.

The 2014 runner up, Christina McHale, defeated Ysaline Bonaventure in two sets, the final score was 6-3, 1-6, 6-2.
