Acapulco, Mexico, February 27, 2025.- For 20 long years Telcel has accompanied the Abierto Mexicano de Tenis as one of the main sponsors, witnessing multiple sports stories and connecting the passion for tennis. 

Alvaro Falla, director of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel presented by HSBC, acknowledged being grateful to have in Telcel a strategic partner that has allowed them to maintain a solid business relationship with great results. 

“We are very happy to have Telcel as a strategic partner that allows us to reach our young people and our society, connecting the passion for tennis,” Alvaro assured. 

José Antonio Fernández, Chief Operating Officer of Mextenis, assured that throughout these two decades both companies, Telcel and Mextenis, have grown together and have achieved a very important sports and commercial synergy.

“We are very fortunate to have a sponsor like Telcel. In Mextenis we have learned so much from you, we have grown together and you have always been with us in this journey and in this adventure,” he said. 

Representing Telcel was Renato Flores Cartas, Deputy Director of Corporate Communications and Government Relations of América Móvil-Grupo Carso, who highlighted the boost they have given to tennis through the Mexican Open.

“For us it is a pleasure and a privilege to build stories together, promoting the sport. The Abierto Mexicano Telcel brings together two important characteristics; the first is that it has a great fan base and the second is that it has a great company, which is Mextenis,” he said. 

The event closed with a presentation by Karla O’Farril Alvarez, Public Relations Manager of OPPO.
