The 2017 champion of Abierto Mexicano Telcel, presented by HSBC, meets with Gavrilova in the semifinals
Acapulco, Guerrero, March 1st.- Lesia Tsurenko did not give options to Kristina Mladenovic and again she defeated her as it happened in last year ‘s final. But this time  in the quarterfinal. Tsurenko  won in two sets (6-2, 6-2)
With a double fault, Mladenovic delivered the match and her disappointment was clear.
Lesia made it clear that she has the formula to fight Kiki’s game. In the first set Kristina was out of play, the situation that was taken as advantage by her rival.
In a blink of an eye, last year champion got her ticket to the semifinals, and her faced showed confidence. one breake during second set gave Lesia much more energy. Mladenovic overcame the breake on the thrid game , but she lost it again.  her shots were uneffective, and when she tried to surprise Lesia with slices , her net game was better.
Tsurenko will fece Gavrilova on her way to defend her title, she has meet her 3 times before, andhas wone all of them.
Daria got her ticket by defeating Cepede Royg in three (6-4, 4-6, 6-2) at Caliente Grand Stand.
Gavrilova got the third ticket to the semi finals, she required of 2hours and 23 minutes to get it.
Last but not leas, the Qualifier Rebecca Peterson got the last spot to the semifinals, after defeatin in two sets (6-2, 6-1) Shuai Zhang.
