Alexander Bublik faced Taro Daniel with a positive result 6-4 and 7-6 (4), in one hour and 33 minutes of play. Bublik, 20 years old and ranked 142, also managed to qualify for the Delray Beach tournament, although he lost in first round.

Cameron Norrie eliminated Denis Kudla in two (6-3 and 6-3) and managed to advance to the main draw of a tournament, after getting it in Delray Beach, where he lost in the first round with Hyeon Chung.

In doubles, Radu Albot and Nikoloz Basilashvili won against Max Miirnyi and Philipp Oswald 5-7, 7-5 and 16-14 after almost two hours of play.

Rebecca Peterson won her ticket after beating Australia’s Olivia Rogowska 6-2 6-1 in 65 minutes.

Finally, the Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska secured the last ticket, after defeating Carol Zhao in two, 6-0 and 6-2.

The special guests, children from DIF Acapulco and from Sueños del Mar, were delighted with the exhibition matches.

Undoubtedly the highlight was when four champions from past editions in entered the court, Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer, Carlos Moya and Sam Querrey.

Pegaso stadium erupted in applause when the players appeared on the court to play a doubles match best of three sets to 10 points.

Carlos and Rafa made a partner to face Ferrer and Querrey.

The public supporting Nadal and Moya, who took the first set 10-6. David and Sam won the second 10-3 and in the decisive Ferrer and Querrey took the match 10-7.

“We had a very fun day and I hope the audience enjoyed it,” he said at the end of the Nadal match.

Kei Nishikori paired with Alizé Cornet and Juan Martín del Potro with Kristina Mladenovic.

The four players entered willing to have fun and infect the attendants.

Delpo-Kiki won the match, but the result was the least important. All of them played to please the public.

Currently, Roger Federer is number one in the ranking of the ATP, after dethroning Nadal, but the Spaniard said he will play and be at its best in each tournament he plays.

The players Belinda Bencic, Feliciano Lopez, Marc Lopez, Santiago Gonzalez lived an intense adventure, crossing 1800 meters of the Pacific Ocean in zip lines at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour.

In Xtasea, a viewpoint located 100 meters above sea level and next to Puerto Marqués was the ideal place for the four athletes to free themselves from the tension, prior to the start of Abierto Mexicano de Tenis Telcel, presented by HSBC.

Bencic, was the only brave woman who flew through the world’s largest zipline over the sea, which opened in April 2017 and has four lines to be simultaneously launched.

The tennis players were amused by the charms that this port has to offer, they could admire the beautiful view of Acapulco during the two minutes of travel although Santiago and Marc laughed at the end because they did not reach the tower because the weather and its Light weight did not help them to get to the end of the zipline.

The local Alejandro Hernandez fulfilled the dream of playing his first ATP tournament in his homeland and he did, in first round of the qualification at Abierto Mexicano de Tenis Telcel, presented by HSBC.
Hernandez, 18, knew how to take advantage of the public support of that gathered on court two of the tennis complex to watch him play against Ernesto Escobedo, 21, but could not overcome his opponent and he was defeated 6-0, 6-3.
Alejandro looked nervous in the first set, but minutes later he found the formula to respond to his opponent.
The young man from Acapulco made his compatriots vibrate during the 68 minutes match, in a match in which he persisted to achieve the victory that would allow him to be in the main draw of this tournament.
The also Mexican Alan Fernando Rubio gave though confrontation against the Japanese Daniel Taro, in 1 hour and 48 minutes, he was determined to get the victory that would allow him to advance to the second round and get a ticket for the main draw of the tournament.
Rubio didn’t gave his opponent that much of a chance, because at times his euphoria broke the Japanese and forced the meeting to be defined in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 6-0.
In this first round, the American Michael Mmoh was also eliminated from the qualifying round, after falling to the Kazakh Alexander Bublik, by 4-6, 6-1 and 1-6. In other news the American Kevin King played against Ramkumar Ramanathan, 6-3, 6-0, in 73 minutes match.
In other results, the Lithuanian tennis player Ricardas Berankis defeated Marcelo Arévalo, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, while the British Cameron Norrie did the same against the Canadian Filip Peliwo, 6-0, 6-6(3)

Acapulco, Gro., 24 de febrero.- The Czech Marie Bouzkova ended Ana Sofia’s illusion, who was
seeking a place at Abierto Mexicano de Tenis Telcel, presented by HSBC.

Bouzkova, 19, 169 WTA defeated Sanchez in 2 sets 6-1 6-2, in 84 minutes match. Ana Sofía, had
already faced Bouzkova once, last year, in Stillwater. In that match the result was also in favor of
the European.
 In her next match, the Czech will face Dutch Arantxa Rus (124-WTA), who left out Ukrainian Olga
Ianchuk 6-2 6-1.
In other results, Tereza Martincova, Czech Republic, defeated the Spaniard Paula Badosa Gibert by
double 6-4. His next rival will be the French Amandine Hesse, winner in the duel against the
Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (2), in one hour and 43 minutes match.

The American Jamie Loeb will be the rival Jana Fett, who eliminated in the first round the Mexican
Victoria Rodríguez. Loeb won 6-1 and 1-0 in the second set when Bibiane Schoofs of the
Netherlands withdrew.

The Italian Jasmine Paolini also advanced, after beating the Chilean Daniela Seguel by 3-6, 6-3 and

The Mexican Victoria Rodríguez had a complicated encounter that did not allow her to obtain a place for the main draw at Abierto Mexicano de Tenis Telcel, presented by HSBC, after falling in qualification against Jana Fett, 6 -1, 6-1 in a match played at Grand Stand Caliente.

Rodriguez, 22, did not have the chance to advance to the main draw, after the European ranked 115^th WTA defeated her in 51 minutes match.

Jana was 58 percent effective in her first serve, taking advantage of three double faults committed by the Mexican. The Croatian will be measured in qualys against American Jaime Loeb, after the Dutch Bibiana Schoofs, retired from the game in the second set.

Victoria had the dream of joining her compatriot Renata Zarazúa, 20, the only Mexican in main draw, that will see the action of the Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko, champion of Acapulco in 2017.

The Mexican Ana Sofía Sánchez and Giuliana Olmos are still waiting to get a place in main draw of the tournament, so they hope to win the games they have scheduled for this day and be located in the second round of qualification.
